This katsina doll was carved by Theron Talashoma from Second Mesa.

Talashoma is a very popular name with katsina carvers.

He is 9 1/2 inches to the top of his head and 11 inches tall overall.

This doll is not signed, but purchased through a Hopi friend on the reservation.

Tonaylili (small river), the uncle who dances on the side of the Navajo katsinam. He makes arm gestures and hand motions to echo the meaning of the song. The Navajo katsinam are Kwivikatsinam which means “fancy” dressed.
